Los Angeles Patient Receives Vbeam to Clear Rosacea*

Los Angeles patient before and after Rosacea treatment with VbeamPoikiloderma and Rosacea are both vascular conditions that result in skin redness. Eliminating the symptoms means eliminating the blood vessels responsible for causing them.

The Vbeam laser system uses a single wavelength (595nm) which is suitable for being absorbed by oxygenated hemoglobin in the blood.  This is how the light energy enters the blood vessels in order to close them off. The body then disposes this non-functional tissue as waste material. Although IPL is also used to treat vascular issues, it uses many different wavelengths which makes the actual outcome less certain. Due to the use of a single wavelength, the Vbeam laser is more specialized for the purpose of treating vascular issues. Dr. Umar used the Vbeam laser to clear manifestations of redness on this Los Angeles patient’s chest. The patient was diagnosed with an atypical form of rosacea. Prior to the formal treatment, two settings of the laser were each tested on different sections of skin. Since no side effects occurred, Dr. Umar applied the Vbeam on the entire affected area of the chest. This patient only required three treatments to clear his rosacea.
