As the aging process happens, skin loses elasticity, density, and firmness. Saggy skin on the face is not only a dead giveaway of a person’s age, but is also cosmetically unacceptable to many. A once-beautiful oval face with jutting cheekbones can become gaunt and tired-looking. While people have opted for surgical face lifts to correct this problem for years now, this invasive plastic surgery risks scarring and infection, among other complications. It also leaves a person bed-ridden for several weeks.

A non-surgical cheek lift is the modern method for achieving a cosmetic improvement, in a safe, effective, and minimally invasive way.

How Does Non-Surgical Cheek Lift Work?

Non-surgical cheek lift is done by injecting certain dermal fillers to the area needed. At FineTouch Dermatology, Dr. Umar administers any of the following three, depending on the individual and the need:

  • -Juvederm
  • -Restylane
  • -Radiesse

These fillers are all slightly different, but generally work by adding volume and firmness to the face.

Juvederm for Non-Surgical Cheek Lift

Juvederm is a gel-like filler made of a bioengineered version of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found in the tendons and joints of the human body, but is made to last much longer for cosmetic use. It naturally binds itself to collagen and elastin, promotes collagen synthesis, and hydrates the tissue where it is injected.

Restylane for Non-Surgical Cheek Lift

Resytylane is similar to Juvederm in that it is also derived from hyaluronic acid. However, its bioengineering is a bit different, making it a thicker gel than Juvederm. This tends to make it less easily moldable to the existing collagen structures, however, it tightens the skin below the eyes while adding volume to the cheeks.

Radiesse for Non-Surgical Cheek Lift

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyapatite, a compound found in our cartilige and bones. This injectable liquid uses the surrounding tissue to synthesize collagen formation, while also building a structural layer to support these new fibers.  Radiesse can actually give the appearance of a lifted cheek bone and must be injected by a doctor with an eye for aesthetically pleasing facial balance.
